In my advisory position at the University of Oregon CHD, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, I support self-advocates in their statewide and national advocacy work. https://chd.uoregon.edu/
The Arc provides excellent disability rights advocacy opportunities on a national level through their email newsletter on topics from Autism research to Medicaid benefits and more. https://thearc.org/
I teach a sexual assault prevention class for adults with developmental disabilities called Safe, Strong and Free at the Hilyard Center in Eugene and elsewhere. Participants experiencing autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental disabilities learn personal safety, healthy boundaries, and personal advocacy skills. https://www.eugene-or.gov/134/Adaptive
